From its humble beginnings as Winger Manufacturing in 1939 to its current position as an industry leader, WINBCO Tank Company has revolutionized custom tank manufacturing. The company established its dominance in the ethanol industry in the 70s, and has since continued a legacy of innovation today with a comprehensive range of custom tank solutions. 

Early History

WINBCO Tank Company started in 1939 as Winger Manufacturing Company, a division of Winger and Winger Boss Company. In the 1970s, the company began independent operations, expanding its experience and capabilities in order to meet alternative fuel mandates and develop new stainless steel systems for many of the largest grain processors in the states. In 1978, WINBCO manufactured the first commercial anhydrous alcohol producing plant in the country–and the company quickly became a leader in the ethanol industry from there. 

Setting the Standard for Custom Storage Tanks

From the 70s and on, WINBCO continued to grow, becoming the go-to manufacturer in the ethanol industry and expanding our facility to over 100,000 square feet of manufacturing space. We developed a specialized logistics fleet in order to deliver the tanks we manufactured ourselves, capable of shipping tanks with diameters of 20 ft. and lengths up to 180 ft. As our facility grew, so did our capabilities. We added engineering and field erection teams to our company, and expanded our ability to develop a full range of pressure vessels, storage tanks, and full tank systems, both in house and out in the field.

Over the past few decades, WINBCO has continued to focus on remaining an industry leader in providing steel process tank manufacturing, fabrication, and installation for our customers. We’ve worked hard to provide our customers with solutions that they can rely on, meeting their industry needs for cutting edge technology that keeps them competitive in the global market. Today, we’ve contributed to over 80% of all ethanol production in some way, and our tanks continue to set industry standards across a variety of markets.
